Reporting To: Maintenance Manager
Office Location: Gelian Hotel, Machakos
Background: Gelian Hotel is a four-star hotel located at the centre of Machakos town. It is also a sister Hotel to Semara Hotel. Semara Hotel is located in Machakos, Mwatu Wa Ngoma Street opposite Machakos County Commissioner Office. We are seeking highly motivated, honest and dedicated team player to join our growing business
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service.
2. Install, repair and maintain all plumbing and related items E.g. baths, showers, toilets, pipe works, fitting valves etc..
3. Install, repair and maintain all mechanical plant, boilers, heaters etc..
4. Maintain all chemical treatments, daily readings and logs for it..
5. Co-ordinate the repairing and maintaining of drainage, pipe work and system large repairs..
6. Manufacture new items in metal or related materials as assigned by Maintenance Manager, including pipe work etc. and occasional brazing/welding..
7. Read/make drawings/sketches of mechanical installations..
8. To ensure proper functioning of all mechanical equipment appliances and installation..
9. Observing all periodic preventive maintenance on all equipment’s in the kitchen and Laundry (Gas cookers, Mixers, Dish washing machine, presses etc) as assigned by the supervisor or the Engineer..
10. Carries out repair works on all mechanical equipment’s and appliances..
11. Handles all Maintenance requests requiring mechanical expertise..
12. Carries out repair and maintenance of all plumbing fittings and installations within the building..
13. Carries out any minor mechanical installation, welding brazing and fabrication works within the Hotel..
14. To have fully working knowledge of all systems within the hotel that fall under his/her responsibility..
15. Maintain and conform to Room Perfect Program..
16. Makes sure assignments are accurately and professionally done first time..
17. Ensures that Purchase requests form raised has detailed specifications on part/product required..
18. Drives implementation of energy and cost cutting measures..
19. Works accurately and professionally to avert repeat jobs..
20. Adheres to preventive maintenance schedule to avoid major breakdowns..
21. To perform other task, including cross exposure, as directed, or multi-skill in any other section..
Qualifications and Skills:.
1. Minimum Certificate in a Plumbing course.
2. 2 years hands on relevant experience..
3. Experience working in a hotel is an added advantage.
