Job Specification
This will be the entry and training grade for the Food Technician (Dairy) cadre. An
officer at this level will work under the supervision and guidance of a senior officer.
Duties and responsibilities will entail: -
i. To operate and assist in the general maintenance of the equipment in the
processing plant.
ii. To assist with the preparation, distribution and storage of resources and
materials.
iii. To assist with the upkeep of both stock and equipment records within the
processing plant.
iv. To inform the plant manager of any health and safety implications as and
when they arise.
v. To assist with the preparation of ingredients.
vi. To maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the processing plant.
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
i. Certificate in any of the following disciplines: - Applied Sciences (Chemistry,
Analytical Chemistry, Biology), Food Science and Technology, Dairy
Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
ii. Computer Literacy;
iii. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
Terms of Service
The post will be offered on Permanent and Pensionable Terms.
Basic Salary Scale for the Advertised Post.
Ksh. 39,000 x 1,860 – 40,860 x 1,920 – 42,780 x 2,040 – 44,820 x 2,160 – 46,980 x 2,310 –
49,290 x 2,460 – 51,750 pm
