Job Description
Our client is a well established SACCO in Nairobi County. They wish to recruit an ICT Officer who shall be the head of the ICT Department and will work under the guidance and direct supervision of the CEO and in constant collaboration with other Departmental heads. The ICT Officer manages ICT resources/services, develops and implements ICT management systems, manages information management tools and manages technology infrastructure. The ICT Officer is responsible for review and advice on the use of new technologies that will enhance efficiency and productivity in the operations, ensure security of the SACCO’s ICT Infrastructure and data, develop and promote e-channels for financial and information access by stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implement ICT strategies and new technologies for efficient operations, service provision and security of data and members funds.
• Ensure effective coordination of ICT helpdesk functions and provide support to all the operations of the SACCO.
• Manage all the SACCO’s ICT hardware, software and networks by continuously monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
• Identify security gaps and provide relevant solutions in consultation with the departmental heads.
• Provide web management services to both the members and SACCO officials and continuously enhance office ICT systems through appropriate upgrades and advise Operations Unit on changes or improvements required.
• Facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing within the SACCO.
• Manage the SACCO’s electronic database and ensure safety of all the SACCO’s electronic data through integrated security of both physical and system-based control solutions for all data and systems.
• Ensure compliance with corporate information management and technology standards, guidelines and procedures for the SACCO’s technology environment.
• Provide advice on maintenance of equipment and acquisition of hardware/software supplies
• Provide analysis and inputs on internal policies and procedures in relation to the use of available or proposed ICT hardware/software.
• Establish, implement and occasionally test business disaster recovery plan and further ensure daily system/data backups.
• Participation in the office business process re-engineering activities and ensures that business needs drive IT solutions related to corporate resource management.
• Develop and update of the ICT annual work plan and reporting.
• Develop manuals and provide end user training on new technologies and tools
• Provide advice and assistance in procurement of new ICT equipment for the office by providing technical specifications and information on best options markets.
• Supervise and mentor ICT department staff members

Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelors’ degree in Information Communication Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology or related discipline.
• Cisco Certified Network Engineer (CCNE) and
• SQL Data base management certification.
• Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (added advantage0
• If certification is not available at the time of recruitment, it should be obtained within 6 months.
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience, including development and implementation of ICT strategies, management and supervision of ICT services and teams, hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based packages/applications, experience in web design and development of web-based office applications.
REMUNERATION
• Gross Salary: Ksh 70,000 to Ksh 90,000 per month based on qualifications

TERMS OF SERVICE
1. This is a management position on permanent and pensionable terms.
2. The SACCO shall offer a competitively negotiated remuneration package based on qualifications, experience and performance.
3. A non-contributory medical benefit at the current medical scheme terms and conditions.
