Project description: Base is a platform created to serve collaborative projects with shared
facilities and equipment in Kisumu, Siaya, Busia and Homabay Counties. The Platform has a vacancy in the Maintenance section as stated below:
Position: Engineering Technologist - KMR 8 (1 position)
Location: Kisumu, Kisian
Duration: One (1) year with a possibility of extension
Reporting to: Senior Administrative Officer
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under
guidance and supervision of a Senior Officer.
a)Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities:-
Install, inspect and test electrical installations in the Institute
Prepare repair and maintenance schedules in the relevant sections for Institute
infrastructure, installations and equipment
Operate, maintain and service Plant, equipment, electrical infrastructure/ systems in the
Institute
Operation, repair and maintenance of Institute utilities
Operate plant and equipment
b)Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:
Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
Training and or experience in air-conditioning equipment/system
Training and experience in diesel generator plant maintenance
Proficiency in computer application
At least one year exposure to busy work environment with busy maintenance schedules
