Job Description
The job holder will be responsible for providing all general electrical and electronics installation, repair and maintenance works at the Hospital. On a daily basis, he/she will carry out various engineering tasks, such as performing calculations to ensure our systems meet the global safety standards and collaborating with the Biomed and IT officers to solve emerging issues.
Job Description
1. Review electrical plans and specifications in order to understand the construction layout and related materials for electrical and electronics works in the Hospital and its Facilities.
2. Implement all electrical and electric systems and equipment installation, modification, repair and maintenance.
3. Ensure all electrical installation, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes and environmental safety and protection requirement.
4. Change, repair and modify building electrical systems, wiring, fittings and appliances to suit end user interests.
5. Identify and requisition the required tools, equipment and materials needed for use in electrical and electronics work.
6. Perform scheduled general maintenance service on electrical wiring, systems equipment and appliances in the Hospital.
7. Implement all electrical and electronics installation, maintenance and user requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixture.
8. Undertake repairs, performance verification testing, acceptance testing, planned preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing on electrical equipment.
9. Inspect all Distribution Boxes for safety purposes.
10. Assist in scheduling and undertaking periodic maintenance on all electrical equipment, components, and installations.
11. Assist Provide prompt response to breakdowns, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
12. Working closely with the Biomedical Engineer in ensuring that equipment are in good working order so as to prevent disruption of services.

Qualifications
1. Diploma in Electrical/ Electronics and or its equivalent from a reputable institution
2. Minimum of five (3) years relevant working experience
3. Experience working in a hospital setup will be an added advantage
4. Computer literate.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Must have a good verbal & written communication skills
7. Knowledge of relevant professional standards.
8. Understand the Regulations that apply to installations, repairs and maintenance of electricity systems and appliances in Kenya.
