Job Description
Main Duties
• Attend to antenatal mothers, review reports and conduct safe deliveries
• Undertaking clinical procedures and examinations
• Carrying out ward rounds with Senior Consultants
• Consulting on cases that the Senior House Officers may require guidance
• Oversee the running of the department
• Assist management in drawing up and implementation of policies and procedures for the department
• Advising and guiding management on procurement of equipment and supplies for the department
• Coaching and mentoring of Senior House Officers
• Supervision of Senior House Officers and Elective Students
• Ensure that Hospital policies and administrative regulations are well known and understood by staff
• Liase with HR & Talent Development to ensure proper staffing levels at all times
• Conduct CPD activities to ensure high standards of competency and efficiency in the department at all times
• Ensures that patients are given utmost attention and care at all times
• Make follow up on complaints and any concerns raised by patients
• Conduct surgeries, elective or emergencies
Required Qualifications for the Position
• Bachelors of medicine & Surgery
• Masters of Medicine in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (MMED)
• Registered with KMPDC
• ECOG, EmONC, ALSO
