An officer at this level will be responsible to the Manager Supply Chain Management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will include but limited to:
• Coordinating the collection, collation and analysis of data from the Authority and making appropriate recommendations thereof;
• Analyzing Supply Chain Management emanating from the Authority and initiating appropriate action;
• Ensuring procurement and disposal functions are in compliance with statutory provisions.
• Preparing and submitting procurement reports on a regular basis;
• Undertaking market survey;
• Monitoring of the implementation of existing Supply Chain Management policies, guidelines and procedures;
• Ensuring the correct interpretation and implementation of the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act, 2015, the regulations 2020, procedures and other statutes that impact on Supply Chain Management;
• Planning and coordinating Supply Chain Management activities in areas such as procurement, warehousing, distribution, disposal of stores and assets, procurement plans and inventory control;
• Supervising, guiding, appraising and developing staff working under him or her.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, a candidate must have:
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce, Business Administration, (Supplies Management Option) or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
• Master’s degree in a Procurement related field such as Commerce, Business Administration and/or Procurement from a recognized institution.
• A minimum period of eight (8) years relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in a supervisory role in the Public Service or Private Sector.
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
• Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM) or any other relevant professional body and KISM supply practitioner’s license.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Good Communication skills.
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution.
