Our client in the tourism industry seeks to hire a Central Operations Room Supervisor who will be in charge of supervising and coordinating activities in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities
Surveillance and general security
• Investigating and reporting on potential Incidents: monitor the organisation’s networks and systems for signs of security threats overseeing the other COR operatives. This might include the scrutiny of live and historic CCTV data, the analysis of TRBOnet software, the review of data through the LoRAWAN network and scrutinising the WPS software and Earthranger. This should also include other monitoring and security platforms that might be introduced in the future.
• Triaging, prioritising and reporting on detected incidences and perceived risks. Implementing the reporting SOPs in this respect, training other CoR staff & implementing the policies in place.
• Community engagement and disseminating reports from surrounding communities in conjunction with the Community Liaison Manager.
• Providing a communication interface between management and ground teams during incident responses.
• Oversight of the population of data through the Kifaru software.
Mapping, Earth Ranger & Tableau
• Collecting and aggregating data and filing post-incident reports in line with the SOPs.
• Data curation, mapping, and assistance with security-specific tasks on GIS and Earth Ranger. This will include the development and submission of reports, ER report vetting and resolving and communicating to the management of pertinent issues.
• Assistance with generating new reporting templates and fixing minor errors on the Earth Ranger platform.
• Developing and generating recurring reports on the Tableau platform.
Management
• Monitoring the organisation’s technical security infrastructure and ensuring that all systems are running smoothly and securely. This includes managing the operation of surveillance and detection systems on the property.
• Supervising COR staff to ensure that they undertake the tasks required as per their job descriptions and abide by the company code of conduct. This will include oversight to ensure that they fulfil their work obligations as per their JDs and as reasonably requested by management.
• Ensuring that the CoR and associated stores are kept tidily. Ensuring that stock cards are maintained and stock control of all items within the security department.
• Liaison with the procurement department, suppliers, and supervision of timely receipt of orders under the security department.
• Ensuring efficient use of company resources under your jurisdiction. This might include the efficient use of co. telephones, administrative materials amongst others.
• Providing leadership and mentorship to COR staff, aiding in their professional development.
• Conducting performance appraisals on general security and operations room staff as requested by management.
• Other, as reasonably prescribed by the Security Manager.
Key Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in operations management or Business Management.
• Proven work experience in Central Room Operations.
• Experience in implementing operational processes.
• Knowledge about computer systems in operations within the control room.
• Good working knowledge of operational procedures and policies.
• Strong project management, administrative management, and organizational skills.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
