Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
(a) Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
i. Preparing responses to simple routine correspondences;
ii. Maintaining office diary;
iii. Handling telephone calls and appointments; taking oral dictation;
iv. Attending to visitors/clients;
v. Maintaining schedule of meetings;
vi. Managing office protocol and etiquette;
vii. Ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment; and
viii. Handling office petty cash


Education Requirements
Professional Qualifications and Experience
For appointment to this position, a candidate must possess:
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

(i) Bachelors Degree in Secretarial Studies or Bachelors of Business and Office Management or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
OR
Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences plus a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution or Business Education Single and Group Certificates (BES & GC) Stages I, II and III from the Kenya National Examinations Council.
(ii) Proficiency in computer applications


Experience Requirements
i. Served in the grade of Office Administrator for a minimum period of four (4) years or in a comparable position in a public or private sector;

Skills and Competence
i. Possess good oral and written communication skills including report writing;
ii. Have a good understanding of the SEZA Mandate;
iii. Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and competence in work performance;
iv. Be computer literate;
v. Have good interpersonal.

Successful applicants will be required to satisfy the provisions of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

(i) Kenya Revenue Authority (Tax Compliance Certificate);
(ii) Higher Education Loans Board (Compliance Certificate);
(iii) Commission for University Education for degrees obtained outside Kenya;
(iv) Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (Clearance Certificate);
(v) Directorate of Criminal Investigation (Certificate of Good Conduct);
(vi) Credit Reference Bureau (Clearance Certificate).
