Project officer (1 Position) , AIC Health Ministries.
Job Summary:
Project Officer will be fully responsible for day-to-day implementation of field work plans and other project related activities in consultation with other project staffs (Project Manager, Coordinator, Monitoring & Evaluation officer, Project Officers).
Key Responsibilities:
The project officer will undertake various duties, which include and are not limited to the following: –
• Answerable to the project manager / coordinator in all aspects of programming.
• Reporting on the project’s progress, scheduling tasks and managing project resources.
• Overseeing project partners carrying out project activities, ensuring quality and helping to mitigate issues and challenges.
• Organising meetings and setting agendas for the project in liaisons with the coordinator.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Updating and maintaining project records and documentation, distributing project documentation/reports and responding to enquiries from stakeholders and partners.
• Conduct eye screening, treatment, and assist in surgical activities during surgical outreaches.
• The officer will facilitate and coordinate referrals for clients who require further management.
• Liaise with OPDs and assist in establishment of PWD groups and ensure they are active as per their endeavor.
• Conduct training on DID activities to PWD groups and ensure such activities are carried out.
• Link DPOs with NCPWD Isiolo County and ensure their needs are given attention.
• Advocate for the rights of people with disability to the County government of Isiolo to ensure inclusivity.
• Conduct any other duty deemed necessary by the employer.
Requirements:
• Must be Computer literate, good use of MS office packages (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Internet)
• Experience working with partners, participatory action planning and community engagement.
• Ability to undertake regular field visits and interact with different stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability in report writing and presentation.
• Must be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadline;
• Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data
• Staff supervision experience a plus
• Keep sensitive information confidential.
• Must be trusted and reliable.
• Must Exhibit professional attitude at all times.
• At least 3 years’ experience in implementation of eye work and disability inclusion work in eye health Programs.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Understand the culture and local language for ease of communication with beneficiaries.
Qualification:
• Diploma and or Certificate in Nursing preferably ophthalmic nursing from recognized institutions.
• Certificates in related training courses including disability inclusive development management, Trained in Disability management.
