The Deputy County Administrator will be responsible to Sub County Administrator
Duties and responsibilities:-
a) Overseeing service delivery in the area of jurisdiction;
b) Coordinating and facilitating citizen participation in the development of policies, plans and
delivery of service;
c) Facilitating inter-governmental relations and conflict resolution;
d) Overseeing safe custody of county government asset in the area of jurisdiction;
e) Coordinating and liaising with other directorates and departments in the area of jurisdiction;
f) Ensuring compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory requirement in the area of jurisdiction;
g) Liaising with relevant stakeholders to organize public fora on development and review of
policies, strategies and guidelines;
h) Ensuring compliance with national values and principles of good governance, and
i) Enhancing administrative capacity for effective functions and governance at the local level;
j) Identification of development projects;
k) Dissemination of information to the Public;
l) Providing linkages between the office and the community;
m) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements and competencies for appointment:
For appointment in this grade, a candidate must have: -
a) Serve in the grade of Principal Administration Officer/Deputy Principal Ward Administrator for a
period of a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable and relevant position in the
Public Service or Private Sector;
b) Bachelor degree in any of the following discipline; Public Administration, Business
Administration /Management, Community Development or any other related field from
recognized institution;
c) Master’s degree in any of the following; Public Administration, Business
Administration/Management, Community Development any other Social Science from
recognized institution will be added advantage;
d) Diploma in advanced Public Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution;
e) Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
f) Demonstrate a thorough understanding for national goals, policies, objectives and the ability to
relate them to the administration function.
