Our client is an upcoming school based in Nairobi County. They are looking to recruit an experienced and dedicated Early Years Foundation Stage with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience and a deep understanding of the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum. The candidate must be able to teach all subjects within Early Years Foundation and demonstrate strong leadership skills to coordinate and guide the Key Stage 1 teaching team effectively. As the Early Years Foundation, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality education delivery, fostering a positive learning environment, and nurturing the holistic development of young learners.
Responsibilities
• Motivate and stimulate a child’s learning abilities, often encouraging learning through experience
• Provide pastoral care and support to children within a secure learning environment
• Assist with the development of a child’s personal, social, language and physical coordination abilities
• Develop and produce visual aids and teaching resources
• Encourage mathematical and creative development through stories, songs, games, drawing and imaginative play
• Help children develop curiosity and knowledge
• Work with others, including teaching assistants and nursery nurses as well as volunteer helpers, to plan and coordinate work both indoors and outdoors
• Share knowledge gained with other practitioners and build and maintain relationships with parents
• Observe, assess and record each child’s progress
• Ensure the health and safety of children and staff is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside the setting
• Imparting knowledge to children through fun and play.
• Ensuring the social and emotional growth of the child.
• Addressing the physical needs of the individual child or group.
• Composing detailed reports for parents.
• Attend staff meetings and staff training days
• Keep up to date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Early Child Development
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in Early Years Foundation Stage, preferably within an IGCSE curriculum-based reputable school.
• Experience certificates proving ability to teach all subjects within Early Years Foundation, displaying a solid grasp of various pedagogical approaches suitable for young learners.
• A teaching qualification or certification.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively guide and collaborate with teachers and other staff members.
• A passion for early childhood education, demonstrating empathy, patience, and dedication to the well-being and progress of young students.
• Ability to exercise patience when interacting with children.
• A caring and approachable nature.
