CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER – JOB REF: MN 8278 Full Time
Our client is a leading textile manufacturing company in the East African region. They wish to recruit a Corporate Communications Manager.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
He / She will be reporting to the Managing Director and be expected to provide strategic leadership and advice to ensure optimal utilization and management of the Company’s resources as per the duties & responsibilities below.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITEIS
The duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
• Coordinating the designing and implementing internal and external communication, advocacy and media strategies and programmes;
• Providing technical advice to the Company’s staff in areas of public communication and media relations;
• Managing the Company’s public/media affairs;
• Profiling and branding REAL corporate image;
• Overseeing the editing of REAL’s publications and journals for quality control;
• Liaising with the Office of the Managing Director on communication and visibility;
• Spearheading the creation of awareness and enhancing accessibility to information at the Company;
• Creating and maintaining social media i.e. Facebook, twitter, linked
• Developing a publicity framework for purposes of public awareness;
• Overseeing development of customer satisfaction mechanisms;
• Keeping and maintaining all public affairs and communications records and photographs; and
• Ensuring staff performance management, training and development in the division.
PERSON PROFILE
Academic Qualifications and Experience
• Served in the grade of Senior Corporate Communications Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable position in the public or private sector;
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• A Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Journalism, Mass Communication or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; will be an added advantage.
• Certificate in Strategic Leadership Course or Corporate Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Be a member to a relevant professional body;
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution;
• Met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya; and
• Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in work performance and results.
