Purpose Of The Job
To provide technical support to existing and new ICT systems by ensuring that the quality and satisfaction levels remain high. The position is also responsible for effective management of the Sacco's system databases.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Systems Administration
• An UN SACCO systems administration, user support and management
• Hotels, sets up, manage, cloning and patching of all applications as well as sets up, installs and manages windows operating system setups and provides support in liaisons with existing vendors
• Providing 24x7 support for critical production systems
• Update and management of ICT inventory register
• Performing and coordinating scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
• Support of business report generation from the UN Sacco la systems
• Create awareness In the use of ICT applications (Microsoft word, excel, Navision and email) and promote consistency across the organization. Carry out routine user training on editing and new ICT systems
• Ensure compliance with and adherence to the statutory requirements concerning information management such as audit, risk management, copyright, and freedom
• Interfacing with relevant business partners on information management matters and system support
• Establish, implement, and maintain sound backup and recovery policies - Ensure adequate backup and recovery strategies and systems are in place and reviewed including Implementation of disaster recovery plan solution to safeguard Sacco systems and infrastructure.
• Assist the Head of ICI in timely preparation of ICT reports to the management • Actively participate in ICT projects implementation and support
• Responsible for the UN Sacco servers online and which includes physical administration of ICT equipment's
• Assists the Head of ICT in managing and troubleshooting the UN Sacco Network -LAN and WAN
• Maintains and support UN Sacco printers. • Support UN Sacco members on internet banking and website accessibility/usage
• Provide Cyber security awareness training and alerts to users in liaison with the head of department- ICT
• Emails systems administration, management, support and trouble shooting in liaison with the head of department-ICT
• Routine sensitization of users on compliance with ICT critical policies
• Participate in preventive maintenance exercises in liaison with existing vendors
• Assesses and reports business ICT needs/ requirements, ICT tools/ facilities/equipment/ systems
• Responsible for software media, licenses, and documentation
• Sharing domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Provide technical support to the marketing unit on regularly updates of the UN Sacco website • Performs any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Database Administration
• Provide continuous support of production database services to ensure highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, and performance required by the Sacco's business.
• Designing and maintaining database architecture, data structures, tables, dictionaries and naming conventions to ensure the accuracy and completeness of all data master files
• Implements hot & cold backup of all UNSACCO systems.
• Per- forming the operational establishment and preventive maintenance of backups, recovery procedures, and enforcing security and integrity controls.
• Implements, install, configure, and upgrade databases and applications in line with the Sacco processes, guidelines.
• Design database and applications to ensure efficient services and system performance.
• Database management system administration, user support, training and management
• Applying data modelling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations.
• Implement and maintain database security and access
• Perform database and application tuning. Monitoring database performance, continually surveying database performance to determine future needs and making recommendations for enhancements.
• Configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and ensuring high levels of performance
• Create and maintain all database queries
• Evaluate new technologies in applications and Sacco related databases and their potential application to the existing Sacco business
• Provide first line technical support in resolution of application and database technical issues raised by users and log the same.
• Assist in Maintaining oversight and custody of the Sacco's in-house and remote data Centre and all network and related hardware assets.
• Ensure the availability of detailed documentation relating to Databases, Systems, network, and telecommunications
• Perform daily backups of all UN Sacco ICT systems
• Participates in routine checks and management of DRP sites
• Implementing and administering database documentation, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Testing database systems and upgrades, such as debugging, tracking, reproduction, logging and resolving all identified problems, according to approved quality testing scripts, procedures and processes.
• Accepting responsibility for the processes, procedures and operational management associated with system security and disaster recovery planning.
• Develop and published reports from the database as per user requirements and business needs.

Experience
• 5 years' experience
Academic Qualification
• Bachelor of in Information Technology/ Computer Science
Professional Qualification
• Relevant professional certification in ICT
