Jamii Housing Co-operative Society Ltd is a housing Co-operative Society for all members
and non members. The objective for the formation of the Sacco is to provide Housing
and Livelihood to its members together. The Society has been in the property business
for over five (5) years now with major focus on land buying and development of low cost
housing to its members.
VACANT POSITION
The Society would like to fill the following vacant position;
Position: Accounts Assistant – II – One Post

Job Type: Contract - 3 Year Renewable

JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to General Manager, the job holder is responsible the financial management of
our Jamii Housing Co-operative assets, including bookkeeping, financial reporting, and
budgeting. He or She will work closely with the property officer to ensure that all
financial transactions are properly recorded and that the financial goals of the Society are
met.
FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
Prepare and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions for
assigned properties
Review invoices and other documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
with the policies
Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely and efficient manner
Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for assigned
properties
Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits
Adhere to internal controls and procedures when processing financial
transactions
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
Assist with special projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
CPA I minimum.
At least 3 years’ experience.
Must conversant with Accounting packages.
PROFFESIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have reconciliation and Accounting skills
Must be knowledgeable on taxation matters
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
Must have a good understanding of financial concepts and pay keen attention
to detail
Ability to multi-task and get things done to completion
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Adaptable, flexible & able to work long hours.
Ability to work under pressure & meet strict deadlines.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Requirements of chapter six (6) of the Constitution including;
Police clearance certificate (Certificate of Good Conduct)
Tax compliance certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
Clearance certificate from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
(EACC).
Clearance certificate from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loan Board (HELB).
