JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT, JOB GRADE KFCB 6 – 1POST
(Terms Of Service Are Permanent) - REF: KFCB/HR/8/2023
(a) Job Description
Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
i. Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
ii. Processing payments;
iii. Preparing and compiling financial reports;
iv. Application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAPs) including the
International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) techniques in
accounting for Board’s finances, assets, revenue, expenditure and costs;
v. Verifying payment vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid
down financial rules and regulations;
vi. Verify bank reconciliation statements;
vii. Supervising cash withdrawal for office use and ensuring safety of the same;
viii. Coordinating preparation of Appropriation In Aid (A-in-A) reports on quarterly
basis;
ix. Supervising processing of personal and merchant claims guided by cash balances
in the cash books in line with Treasury regulations;
x. Analyzing revenue collected; and
xi. Preparing of quarterly financial management reports that fall under his/her
section(s).
(b) Job Description
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:-
i. Have Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines; Commerce
(Accounting/ Finance option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration,
Business Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Have Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. Be Proficient in computer application;
iv. Have fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
