Assistant Director, Information Communication Technology (AFGM 4)-
Vacancy No. AFGM/6/2023 (1post)-Permanent and Pensionable
a. Duties and Responsibilities
i. Formulating, implementing and coordinating of information communication
technology policies, strategies and programmes;
ii. Evaluating user requests for new, modified or updated software application;
iii. Evaluating programmes to determine feasibility and compatibility with current
system;
iv. Designing specifications aimed at the computerization and networking of all
functions, activities and processes of the board;
v. Ensuring adherence to information communication technology policies, procedures
and standards;
vi. Coordinating information systems security audits, reporting and making
recommendations to strengthen ICT security systems;
vii. Facilitating procurement of ICT equipment and services;
viii. Reviewing, testing and evaluating both hardware systems and software programmes
to determine their efficiency reliability and compatibility and recommending data
communication systems; and
ix. Investigating and resolving computer hardware and software problems
reported by users.
b. Requirements for Appointment
i. Twelve (12) years cumulative experience, four (4) of which should have been at
Principal Information Communication Technology Officer or a comparable position
in a reputable organization;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Computer Science,
Information Communication Technology, Business Information Technology or
equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
iii. Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Computer Science, Information
Communication Technology, Business Information Technology or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
iv. Relevant ICT certifications such as CCNP, MCSE, CISA, CISSP, Prince 2 or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
v. Be a member to a relevant professional body;
vi. Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
will be an added advantage; and
vii. Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capability as reflected in
work performance and results.
c. Essential skills and Competencies

iii. Data analysis skills.
