Job Title
Livestock Production Officer
Job Description
1. Carrying out practical demonstrations and training farmers on livestock production technologies and techniques;
2. Assisting in preparing field days to disseminate livestock production technologies;
3. Assisting in identification of pasture and fodder varieties;
4. Assisting in advising on management of pasture and fodder production conservation;
5. Assisting in farm planning;
6. Guiding on farm feed formulation;
7. Collating and analyzing livestock data;
8. Participating in collaborative research activities;
9. Implementing livestock programmes / projects; and
10. Assisting in compiling reports relating to area of specialization.

Job Specification
For appointment of this grade, an officer must have:-
1. A Bachelors degree in a relevant animal production discipline;
2. Registered by relevant professional body;
3. Proficiency in Computer Application; and
4. Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the constitution.

Key competencies and skills
1. Good interpersonal communication skills; and
2. Should be able to work with minimal supervision.

4. KRA compliance certificate; and
5. Clearance from a reputable credit referencing bureau.
