DIRECTOR ICT (1 POSITION) -JOB GROUP ‘R’-VACANCY NO. KSI/PSB/EA/10/2024

Requirements for Appointment:
i. Be a Kenyan citizen;
ii. Bachelors’ Degree in any of the following discipline; Computer Technology,
Informatics, Business information Technology (BBIT), Computing science and
Technology, Computer security and Forensics, Computer/ Software/Electronics
Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent qualification from university
recognized in Kenya;
iii. A master’s Degree in Computer science or in related field will be an added
advantage;
iv. Membership to a relevant profession body;
v. Demonstrated a high level of competency and outstanding management
qualities in computerized information system, ICT policies and E- government
strategies;

The duties and responsibilities include: -
i. Overall, in charge for management and coordination of ICT functions.
ii. Planning, directing, controlling and coordinating ICT operations including budget
and budgetary control, accountability and prudent utilization of resources;
iii. Implementing and ensuring appearance to ICT policies, guidelines, standards.
Strategies and programs;
iv. Providing technical advice in ICT and emerging technologies;
v. Monitoring and evaluating programs relating to ICT services;
vi. Continuously liaising with the departments responsible for ICT on shared services,
upcoming implementations, reporting and other ICT related matters;
vii. Coordinating research and development on emerging ICT issues for purposes of
improvements in surface delivery;
viii. Developing and implementing ICT programs, projects and processes in liaison
with business owners to meet surface delivery needs;
ix. Coordinating analysis of ICT system requirements and business process reengineering to meet business needs;
x. Overseeing the implementation and integration of ICT shared systems; Ensuring
ICT capacity building and optional developments of ICT officers;
vi. Served for a minimal period of ten (10) years, three (3) years of which should have
been in the relevant position in the public service or private sector;
vii. Thorough understanding of the County goals and objectives and the ability to
interpret and apply them to the computing management concepts;
