EXAMINATIONS OFFICER (BRAILLE), KNEC GRADE 7 (1 POST)
a) Job Specifications
The duties and responsibilities will entail:
(i) Participating in curriculum development activities;
(ii) Validation of Curriculum Designs for assessment
(iii) Recruitment and training of contracted professionals
(iv) Development of assessment tools
(v) Proofreading and approving assessment tools for banking;
(vi) Adaptation of assessment tools
(vii) Producing assessment tools in braille format
(viii) Providing input in the preparation of divisional work plans, procurement plans,
and budgets;
(ix) Participating in awards and grading;
(x) Preparing examination feedback reports;
(xi) Ensuring security and confidentiality of all examination and assessment
materials;
(xii) Keeping abreast with trends in psychometrics;
(xiii) Adhering to the requirements of the Quality Management Systems for
continual improvement;
(b) Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) Bachelors Degree in Special Needs Education with specialization in Visual
Impairment from a recognized institution OR Bachelors Degree in a relevant
discipline plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution OR
a Higher Diploma in a relevant discipline and a Diploma in Technical Education from a
recognized institution and At least four (4) years cumulative teaching experience;
(ii) Specialization in Braille
(iii) Competency in Mathematics and Music Braille
(iv) Ability to develop tactile diagrams
(v) Demonstrated competence and merit in work performance;
(vi) Proficiency in computer applications;
(vii) Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution only for the successful
applicants.
