Duties and Responsibilities
- In-charge of the Marketing Directorate
- Supervising staff in the directorate
- Developing the County Marketing Policy
- Developing the marketing plan strategy for new and existing products within the county
- Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy - including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR aimed at increased trade volumes
- Working closely with the community based enterprises/industries and assist in the marketing of the products within and outside the county.
- Guiding the day to day activities of the marketing team.
- Ensuring that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team.
- Organize for trade fairs and exhibitions
- promote the product development for the county marketable commodities
- Develop marketing platforms for the county products
- To promote the export of products by creation of market linkages with exporters and importers
- collaborating with stakeholders to ensure improved trade volumes in the county
- Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends to ensure products have a comparative and competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree commerce/ Business Management/ Business Administration with a bias in Marketing or related field from a recognized institution.
- A Master’s degree in Marketing
- At least 15 years’ experience in senior position in the public sector or private sector
- Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles.
- Confident, driven and dynamic leader.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to spot innovations in the marketing.
- A member of Marketing Society of Kenya will be an added advantage
