The Role
An able, well-qualified and inspiring teacher of Chemistry is required to join this very successful and innovative department from September.  The department currently comprises four teachers who work in modern, well-resourced laboratories with the support of lab technicians.

Whilst desirable, prior teaching experience is not a necessity.  We are looking for applicants who relish the opportunity to work with bright, ambitious and well-motivated students.  Applicants must demonstrate an ability to relate to young people together with a genuine, academically well-grounded enthusiasm for the subject.  Applicants should endeavor to inspire students to develop high standards of scholarship through innovative, clearly focused and responsive teaching, which goes the extra mile, and encourages students to do the same.

In line with other currently advertised positions, the roles of Head of Careers or Director of Learning could also be available for the right candidate.  Depending on other appointments, the position of Head of Chemistry may also be offered.

All staff are involved in the wider life of St Andrew’s, including the School’s vibrant co-curricular and boarding programmes; an ability to contribute to these would be advantageous.
