We wish to recruit a dynamic, qualified and result-oriented person to fill the following position:
HOUSEKEPEER, ST. BAKHITA HOSTEL
Organizational Relationship: Reports to Hostel Administrator, St. Bakhita Hostel.
Duties And Responsibilities
• Assisting in stock taking;
• Replenishing cleaning materials and supplies;
• Keeping proper records of sundry and linen stores;
• Ordering, receiving, storing and issuing of cleaning materials;
• Following up on maintenance work order forms;
• Carrying out on the job training for staff;
• Writing and keeping reports on losses, breakages and defects.
• Maintaining and replenishing laundry stocks;
• Preparing and submitting laundry reports;
• To ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order and used correctly, ensuring that safety procedures are adhered to;
• To ensure that the correct and economical use of detergents and materials are followed;
• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Competences:
• Served in a comparable and relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• Certificate in Housekeeping and Laundry lasting not less than one (1) year or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution;
• Excellent organizational, analytical skills communication and interpersonal skills;
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision;
• Ability to guide, counsel and mentor staff and students;
• Outstanding managerial and administrative capability;
• Ability to build personal relationships;
• He/she should be flexible and adaptable enough to work in a multicultural environment.
