RISK MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICER (KMFRI GRADE 7)- POSITION - ONE (1)
• Basic Salary Scale: KShs. 61,394 – KShs. 79,812 P.M.
• House Allowance: KShs. 28,000 P.M.
• Commuter Allowance: KShs 6,000 P.M.
• Annual Leave Allowance: KShs 6,000 P.A.
• Medical Cover & Other Allowances: As provided by KMFRI
• Terms of Service: Permanent & Pensionable
(a) Duties and responsibilities of the officer entail;
i. Implementing of quality assurance and risk management strategies, policies and procedures to ensure achievement of objectives;
ii. Carrying out risk assessments for various processes in the Institute;
iii. Champion monthly review of controls and report on effectiveness of the controls;
iv. Monitoring adherence to quality systems and comply with brand standards, governmental controls and ISO quality standards and maintaining requisite documents;
v. Implementing Quality Systems;
vi. To ensure that only products that meet the company’s quality standards are produced and delivered to customers;
vii. Providing timely feedback on potential quality deviation and providing support for rectification of anomaly;
viii. Assist to roll-out risk awareness initiatives;
ix. Obtain and consolidate the various risk and compliance reports from the various departments/units to ensure proper documentation;
x. Updating Directorate/Departmental and corporate risk registers;
xi. Assist with administrative aspects of the risk and compliance unit;
xii. Work with external parties to investigate and provide evidence where a breach of controls has been identified;
xiii. Develop and monitor due diligence procedures and KYC documentation that will be used for on boarding of business partners;
xiv. Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operational and technical staff,
xv. Maintaining controls and documentation procedures and policies;
xvi. Implementing annual quality assurance and enterprise risk management plan;
xvii. Carrying out quarterly routine awareness programs to management on risk management;
xviii. Carrying out quarterly audits to ensure compliance with ISO procedures;
xix. Conducting and scheduling effective training for staff in regard to quality management systems and risk management;
xx. Preparing of reports for each quality assurance and risk management assignment to risk/process owners; and
xxi. Monitoring implementation of agreed risk management mitigation measures with risk/process owners.
(b) Requirements for Appointment/Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
i. Bachelor’s degree in Social Science such as Finance, Economics, Information Technology, Business Information Technology, Statistics, Business Studies, Project Management, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
ii. Professional certification in risk management;
iii. At least 3 years experience in designing, documenting and implementing risk management systems is an added advantage;
iv. Proficient in computer applications;
v. Meets the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution;
vi. Ability to analyze data and identify trends and patterns; and
vii. Ability to adhere to a code of ethical conduct;
viii. Attention to detail.
