POSITION: DIRECTOR INFORMATION, COMMUNICATION AND TECHNOLOGY JOB GROUP

Number of Posts: One (1) Post
Terms of Service: Four (4) Years Contract
Basic Salary Scale: As provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission
Duties and responsibilities
1. Promote ICT infrastructure and secure networks within the County Government;
2. Implement County ICT strategy and standards;
3. Overseeing installation and configuration of Local Area Network and Wide Area Network;
4. Carrying out systems analysis, design and program specifications in liaison with users;
5. Overseeing the process of configuration, repair and maintenance in information
Communication Technology equipment and associated peripherals;
6. Drawing up hardware specifications and certification of ICT equipment;
7. Provide effective leadership to ICT staff;
8. Overseeing the overall coordination, monitoring and evaluation of ICT systems and
operations in the County;
9. Implementation of County/National ICT policy and e-Government master plans; and,
10. Advise the County Executive on the progress of ICT projects in the County.
Requirements for Appointment
1. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
4. Have at least eight (8) years relevant working experience; experience within the ICT sector
at a managerial level of at least three (3) in the County Government shall be considered
as a desirable added advantage;
5. Be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science,
Information Technology, Electronic and Computer Engineering from a recognized
institution;
6. Masters Degree in any of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information
Technology, Electronic and Computer Engineering will be an added advantage;
7. Demonstrate competence, merit and ability as reflected on work performance and results;
8. Demonstrate a high degree of administrative and professional competence; and,
9. Have knowledge in computer applications from a recognized institution.
