PRINCIPAL MINERAL PROCESSING ENGINEER
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities will entail:
• Analysing reports of metallurgical tests on mineral ores and review designs for optimal beneficiation methods
• Reviewing designs and monitor supervision of installation of mineral processing plants, cutting and polishing plants and any other equipment necessary for mineral beneficiation
• Reviewing and monitor implementation of mineral processing waste management plans
• Developing plans for mineral products stockpiles and inventories
• Monitoring and reviewing Implementation of mine safety, environment and health regulations in mineral processing
Job Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:-
• A minimum period of eight (8) years in relevant work experience and at least three (3) years in supervisory role in a position in the Public Service or Private Sector
• Masters degree in mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy, geotechnical, civil or equivalent engineering qualification from a recognized institution
• Bachelors degree in either, mining, mineral processing, extractive metallurgy or civil engineering
• Management course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• Professional qualifications and membership where applicable
• Proficiency in computer applications;
• Good communication skills
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter Six of the constitution
