REF: TUR/CPSB/023/2022/2023, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR COOPERATIVE AUDIT,
JOB GROUP “P”, POSITION: ONE (1)
Assistant Director Co-operative Development will be responsible to Deputy Director Co-operative
Development in matters related to Co-operative Development in the County.
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Provide technical advice in areas of specialization;
b) Advising on co-operative investment;
c) Analyzing data for policy formulation;
d) Enforcing compliance with co-operative legislations;
e) Carry out market research and disseminating research findings;
f) Promoting value addition and processing;
g) Conducting co-operative banking inspections, and
h) Undertaking co-operative risk management, preparing and evaluating co-operative activities
and trends for promoting the co-operative movement;
i) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirement for appointment
For appointment in this grade, a candidate must have: -
a) Served in the grade of Assistant Principal Co-operative Officer for a minimum period of three
(3) years or in any comparable and relevant position in the Public Service or Public Sector;
b) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following discipline: Commerce, Business
Management/Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural
Economics, Co-operative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and
Organizational Development, Finance, or Agribusiness or any other equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution;
c) Master’s degree in any of the following discipline: Commerce, Business
Management/Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Law, Agricultural
Economics, Co-operative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and
Organizational Development, Finance, or Agribusiness or any other equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution will be added advantage;
d) Attended Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized
institution in Kenya;
e) Certificate in Computer Application from a recognized institution; and
f) Demonstrate a thorough understanding for national goals, policies, objectives and the ability
to relate them to the co-operative development function.
