The Sub County Administrator will be responsible to County Director in charge of the
Administration
Duties and responsibilities:-
(i) Ensuring citizen participation in the development of policies, plans and delivery of services in
the area of jurisdiction;
(ii) Facilitating mobilization and ensuring prudent utilization of resources;
(iii) Facilitating citizen participation in the development of policies, plans and delivery of services
in the area of jurisdiction;
(iv) Facilitating intra and inter-governmental relations and conflict resolutions;
(v) Overseeing safe custody of government assets in the area of jurisdiction;
(vi) Ensuring compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory requirement in the area of
jurisdiction;
(vii) Ensuring compliance with national values and principles of good governance;
(viii) Identification of development projects;
(ix) Dissemination of information to the Public, and
(x) Providing linkages between the office and the community.
Requirements and competencies for appointment:
For appointment in this grade, a candidate must have:-
(i) Serve in the grade of Assistant Director Administration Service/Deputy Sub County
Administrator for a period of a minimum period of three (3) years or in a comparable and
relevant position in the Public Service or Private Sector;
(ii) Bachelor degree in any of the following discipline; Public Administration, Business
Administration /Management, Community Development or any other related field from
recognized institution;
(iii) Master degree in any of the following; Public Administration, Business
Administration/Management, Community Development any other Social Science from
recognized institution will be an added advantage;
(iv) Diploma in advanced Public Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution;
(v) Attended Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks or equivalent qualification
from a recognized institution;
(vi) Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
(vii) Demonstrate a thorough understanding for national goals, policies, objectives and the ability
to relate them to the administration function.
