POSITION: FILM OFFICER II JOB GROUP CPSB 10 (J)
Number of Posts: Two (2) Posts
Terms of Service: Permanent
Basic Salary Scale: As provided for by the Salaries and Remunerations Commission
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Managing material such as camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and
special effects to produce a final film or video product;
2. Uploading and sharing photos to the various audiences including Facebook, Twitter,
YouTube, etc;
3. Manage and maintain production equipment and technology, including cameras,
lighting, and sound equipment;
4. Taking photos and videos as requested; this will include regularly scheduled
photos/videos.
5. Working with a range of media, including computer-aided design (cad), and keeping
up to date with emerging technologies;
6. Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive
design;
7. Keep up to date with industry trends and new technology, making recommendations
for equipment and software upgrades as necessary;
8. Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements for Appointments
1. Be a Kenyan Citizen
2. Relevant work experience of not less than five (5) years in video editing and
photography;
3. Have a diploma in any of the following fields:— Film and Theatre Arts, Film and Video
Production, Film and Animation, Photography and Video Production, Video Editing
and Photography Production, Performing Arts and Film Technology, or equivalent
qualification from a recognized institution;
4. Have a clear understanding of the working of the media and the socio-political
environment in Kenya;
5. Possess advanced computer application skills;
6. Possess good oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili;
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate
effectively with others;
8. Strong technical skills, with experience in camera operation, lighting, and sound
equipment;
9. Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro;
10. Membership to a relevant professional body;
11. Demonstrate professional competence in work performance and results and exhibited
a thorough understanding of national goals, policies and objectives;
12. Any other related course will be an added advantage;
