Position: Manager Loans

JOB PURPOSE
The jobholder is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical support in loans
administration process and growing a quality loan book with minimum loss exposure.
FUNCTIONS / KEY RESULTS EXPECTED
The Jobholder is responsible for:
Strategies and Execution
Formulate and Implement strategies to grow the Sacco’s loan book in line with the SMP
targets;
Development, Implementation and continuous review of the Sacco Loaning policy and
procedures in line with lending trends;
Develop and execute departmental work plans and associated budgets;
Prepare timely monthly board papers and present to the Credit Committee;
Follow up on implementations of Board resolutions in respect to Loans administration;
Carry out member needs analysis, develop new and review existing products;
Develop and execute a risk management framework for the function and seek approvals for
any mitigation measures.
Credit Administration
Oversee the lending process in line with the loaning policy and procedures in maintaining a
quality portfolio;
To ensure timely loan disbursements, accounts reconciliation and monitoring of business
loans repayments;
To obtain and comply copies of loan applicants’ information as stipulated to facilitate Loan
processing;
To analyze applicants’ financial status and credit evaluations to determine feasibility of
granting loans;
To periodical review of business loans applications and proposals to ensure that the loans are
in line with the society’s financial policy guidelines and procedures;
Oversee the entire loan/shares reconciliation process and report appropriately;
Verification of deceased member accounts and ensure accurate completion of claim forms.
Team Leadership
Manage, supervise, coordinate and motivate the loans team to ensure achievements of the set
targets;
Provide delightful customer experience for both internal and external customers;
Setting up performance management plans and target for team members and appraisal in line
with Human resource policy and procedures
Growth of Share Capital
Participating in member educations programs /campaigns;
Provide delightful customer experience for both internal and external customers; Selling and
cross - selling of Sacco products
IMPACT OF RESULTS
Overall smooth flow of the entire credit process by ensuring compliance of the corporate
credit policy
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Business related degree
CPA (K) or Professional credit qualifications or Diploma in Co-operative management
10 years’ working experience with 5 years in a supervisory role
