QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for Appointment: - -
i. Certificate in any of the following disciplines: Animal Health, Animal Health and Production from a recognized institution.
ii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate; and
iii. Membership of a relevant professional body;
iv. Certificate in meat inspection from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Carry out treatment of animals as per the skills acquired;
ii. Participate in disease search and reporting;
iii. Demonstrate milking techniques and external parasite control techniques such as dipping, spraying and dusting;
iv. Carry out vaccination of livestock;
v. Undertake closed castration, dehorning, deworming, disbudding, docking, debeaking and hoof trimming.
vi. Undertake meat inspection; and
vii. Carry out slaughterhouse hygiene and meat transportation regulations.
