QUALIFICATIONS,REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Requirements for appointment:-
i. Diploma in any of the following: Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences, Ultrasound, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Radiation Therapy and Digital Medical imaging equipment or its equivalent from a recognized Institution
ii. Possess a current valid practicing certificate; and
iii. Membership of a relevant professional body;
Duties and Responsibilities: -
i. Provide radiographic services to the patients;
ii. Process , verify and maintain information relating to patients; and
iii. Identify and report equipment failures immediately;
iv. Order and maintain records of radiographic and photographic supplies.;
v. Inform and obtain informed consent from patients or their caregivers prior to undertaking procedures as appropriate to individual circumstances and barriers; and
vi. Communicate the results of normal and abnormal scans to patients and relatives, sensitively and with empathy. Ensure that information is clearly understood and assist in determining appropriate referral pathways to other health care professionals.
