Job Description
Job Purpose
The Technician, Electrical is responsible for carrying out maintenance on the Bank’s electrical systems including Automatic Voltage Regulators, Generators, electrical boards, cabling and any other electrical equipment and installations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Safely Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
2. Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, etc.
3. Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean and safe.
4. Performing preventative maintenance on variable frequency drives (VFD’s), motors, pumps, generators, lifts, UPS’, etc.
5. Receive and complete work orders as expected within the expected timelines.
6. Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates. Maintain accurate records on material and labor in usage.
7. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials and operate them according to established safety procedures.
8. Work with building experts and supervisors to complete electrical scope on ongoing projects.
9. Detect repairs on buildings, grounds and equipment needed following established inspection procedures.
10. Respond to emergency calls whenever needed.
11. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
12. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
13. Responsive and active team player in line with Bank values.

Any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
1. Higher National Diploma or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized institution.
2. Government of Kenya Electricians License or equivalent.
Work Experience
At least five (5) post-graduation relevant experience in a large and busy organization.
Competencies
Technical Competencies
1. Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring and operating principles of motors.
2. Knowledge of local electrical codes.
3. Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and written reference material.
4. Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical, electronics and air-conditioning problems.
5. Ability to use electrical hand and power tools.
6. Heavy Power installations related experience – Transformers, generators, HT cables, switchgear among others.
7. Must possess troubleshooting and repair skills for a variety of electrical systems.
8. Computer skills – including use of MS Office suite, ArchiCAD/AutoCAD.
9. Knowledge of plumbing, artisanry, electronics will be an added advantage
