COUNTY DIRECTOR (HOUSING & URBAN DEVELOPMENT); JOB GROUP ‘R’ – ONE [1] POST ADVERT NO. 37/2021/2022
Salary Scale: Ksh.115,290 x 5,770 – 121,060 x 6,050 – 127,110 x 6,240 – 133,350 x 6,420 – 139,770 x 6,610 – 146,380 x6, 790 – 153,170 p.m.
The County Director of Urban Development will be responsible to the Chief Officer Lands, Physical Planning, Housing and Urban Development for Housing and Urban development Services.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
(i) Coordination, implementation of statutory provisions and other relevant legislation on urban development.
(ii) Coordination and implementation of urban development programs
(iii) Evaluating urban development projects.
(iv) Overseeing the development and implementation of vision 2030 as far as urban infrastructure is concerned.
(v) Overseeing development and implementation of strategic work plans, performance targets and contracts.
(vi) Preparing budgets and procurement plans for the urban development section.
(vii) Overseeing staff development, coaching and mentoring.
(viii) Spearheading in research, monitoring & evaluation on urban development agenda
(ix) Management of government building and estate management
(x) Advising on leasing of private premises
Requirements for Appointment.
(i) Served in the grade of Senior Assistant Director, urban development for a minimum period of three(3) years;
(ii) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in related field;
(iii) Fully registered with KIP or AAK;
(iv) Master’s degree in urban planning or development studies from a recognized institution;
(v) Certificate in Strategic Leadership Development Program lasting not less than six(6) weeks;
(vi) Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
(vii) Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
