Position: Principal ICT Officer

Reporting to: Chief Manager, Corporate Services
Duties and Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the selected candidate will entail:
1. Managing the overall ICT services and implementing comprehensive ICT disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
2. Initiating the development and review of ICT strategy, plans, policies, systems and procedures.
3. Overseeing implementation of ICT policies, strategies and procedures.
4. Ensuring timely adoption, implementation, and compliance with the ICT Authority recommended Standards, circulars, and relevant international ICT standards.
5. Recommending to Management emerging ICT solutions and best practices to enhance service delivery.
6. Overseeing the design and review of ICT architecture, networks and documenting internal ICT standards, policies and procedures.
7. Recommending to management ICT specification and standards for acquisition, implementation and management of ICT systems and infrastructure.
8. Designing and managing ICT systems and infrastructure projects.
9. Ensuring systems integrity, availability, and ICT data and security, including Internet connectivity and telephony systems.
10. Overseeing all systems and managing ICT systems backup and restore operations and monitoring of databases backup and restore routines.
11. Overseeing the administration of Servers, e.g. Domain Controllers, Active Directory and Exchange Server.
12. Ensuring that all ICT systems upgrades are fully tested and operational before signoff handover to the users.
13. Managing licensing issues with ICT providers and ensuring full implementation of all maintenance Contracts and related Service Level agreements.
14. Providing technical support and solutions on Server administration and performing troubleshooting analysis.
15. Keeping abreast with developments in ICT and recommending relevant strategies and programmes to management.
16. Initiating and managing the monitoring and evaluation of ICT projects to meet the goals of the Service.
17. Liaising with Human Resources on ICT user application training and delivering ICT user training.
18. Developing work plans, relevant reports on the periodic review of all ICT equipment and systems requirements to management; and
19. Ensuring prudent use of all resources within the Division.
Academic and Professional Qualifications
1. At least six (6) Years work relevant work experience, three (3) of which should be in Supervisory role;
2. Bachelors degree in IT or Computer Science or a related field from a recognized institution;
3. Membership to a professional body in good standing;
4. Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
5. Proficiency in Computer systems and application;
6. Demonstrated results in work performance; and
7. Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution.
