Job Description
Requirements for appointment
i) A degree in Agriculture Engineering or other related field from a recognized University
ii) Master’s Degree in relevant field will be an added advantage
iii) Have knowledge and relevant work experience of not less than Seven (7) years, three (3) of which must have been at Senior Management level in the Public Service or Private Sector;
iv) Member of Relevant Professional Organization.
v) Having undergone management and leadership course of not less than four weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
vi) Successful applicant to meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity;
Duties & Responsibilities
i) Provide the overall administration and management of the AMS.
ii) Provide direction and leadership for AMS staff
iii) Coordinate mechanization projects and programs
iv) Oversee the mobilization of resources for development of the station from available local development funds
v) Prepare and implement performance contracts
vi) Implement the National Agricultural Mechanization Strategy (NAMS) at the county,
vii) Build capacity, Collaboration and backstopping on mechanization technologies in Liaison with all key stakeholders.
viii) Participate in stakeholder forums, field days, open days, exhibitions and shows.
ix) Examine and approve all plans and designs of various construction works prior to actual implementation by the mechanization manager and field superintendents,
x) Coordinating preparation of work plans and budgets; and Periodic Reports
