Duties and responsibilities
At this level, the Officer will be deployed in either Ward level or Sub County level. This position
is responsible for Management of the Ward/ Sub County and to enlighten the community
socially, economically and politically ensuring gender balance and equality, community
mobilization, sensitization and capacity building, vetting and processing of various project
proposals for the purpose of onward transition, monitoring and evaluation of development
activities, linkages between communities and development partners, writing gender/social
proposal for research and funding, mobilizing resources to empower women, youth and PLWD's.
Specific duties and responsibilities are:
1. Assist in working with communities and self-help groups to identify their social economic
need;
2. Assist in guiding communities to identify and mobilize local resources for the
implementation of development projects;
3. Assist in mainstreaming disability in programs sand projects;
4. Assist in training communities and groups on livelihood projects;
5. Assist in registering persons with disabilities, poor and vulnerable individuals for social
development programs;
6. Assist in collecting data on accessibilities on opportunities for men and women;
7. Assist in liaising with local communities and other development agencies in implementing
community development programs;
8. Assist in mobilizing communities for the implementation of their development programs
and projects; and,
9. Perform any other assigned duty.
Requirements for Appointment:
1. Be a Kenyan Citizen;
2. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C- Minus or its recognized
equivalent qualification;
3. Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Community Development, Social
Development, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Counselling or equivalent
qualification from a recognized Institution;
4. Positive working attitude and ability to take instructions;
5. Ability to get on well with diverse work force; and,
6. Integrity and commitment to producing results.
