POSITION: ASSISTANT COMMISSIONER, COOPERATIVES - JOB GROUP CPSB 05 ‘P’ (5 POSTS)
Basic Salary: Kshs. 87,360 x 3,190 – 90,550 x 4,490 – 95,040x 4,860 -99,900 x 5,010 – 104,910 x
5,240 – 110,150x 5,500 – 115,650 x 5,780 – 121,430 p.m.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
a) Provide technical advice in the area of specialization;
b) Advice on cooperative investments;
c) Analyze data for policy formulation;
d) Enforce compliance with cooperative legislation;
e) Carry out market research and disseminating research findings;
f) Promote value addition and processing;
g) Conduct cooperative banking inspections;
h) Undertake cooperative risk assessment; and
i) Prepare and evaluate cooperative activities and trends for promoting the cooperative
movement.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment in to this grade, an officer must have: -
a) Served in the grade of Principal Cooperatives Officer, Job Group CPSB 06/’N’ or in a
comparable position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
b) Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, Law,
Cooperative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational
Development or Finance from a recognized institution;
c) Master’s degree in Commerce, Business administration, Economics, Sociology, Law,
Cooperative Management, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Management and Organizational
Development from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
d) Diploma in any of the following disciplines; Co-operative Management, Co-operative
auditing, Marketing, Internal Auditing, or Finance qualification from a recognized institution
OR
a) Certified Public Secretaries (CPS) Kenya Part III or Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Kenya
Part III from a recognized institution; and
b) Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
