Job Description

Purpose of the role:
To provide technical advice and guidance in all aspects of Trade and Investment in consultation with the SME Development and Trade Development.

Key Responsibilities:
Trade Related
1. To support the Board of Directors on Policy and Trade trends, nationally and internationally.
2. Develop and implement trade strategies to promote Kenyan exports and attract foreign investment.
3. Responsible for advising the CEO on trade policy matters, such as tariffs, non-tariff barriers, and trade disputes.
4. Provide support to KNCCI members on trade-related issues including providing information on trade opportunities, regulations, and standards.
5.To be responsible for the development of short medium- and longer-term strategies on member relations and after-care services.
6. Conduct research on target markets and identify potential trade and investment opportunities.
7. Represent the KNCCI in government consultations and negotiations on trade policy matters.
Administrative Related
1. Prepare reports and presentations for the CEO on trade-related matters.
2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the CEO including managing the CEO's calendar, scheduling appointments, and preparing correspondence.
3. Coordinate and manage the CEO's travel arrangements.
4. Provide support to the CEO during meetings and presentations. This includes taking notes, preparing materials, and managing the logistics of the event.
5. Act as the CEO's point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. This includes responding to inquiries, managing communication, and providing updates.
6. Maintain the CEO's office and ensure that it is well-organized and efficient.
7. Perform other tasks as requested by the CEO.

Qualifications and Experience required:
1. Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in Economics or International Business Studies/International Marketing with at least three (3) years' work experience
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with excellent presentation skills.
3. Must be able to communicate confidently at all levels within the Group, along with well-developed presentation skills.
4. Must be able to demonstrate professional credibility, being highly motivated and goal orientated.
5. Must have a strong commercial awareness and the ability to develop creative International Trade solutions for the SME.
6. The ability to manage a range of different tasks with excellent time management skills and flexibility with regard to working hours.
