COUNTY DIRECTOR (INFORMATION COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY) – JOB GROUP “R” ONE [1] POST ADVERT NO. 16/2021/2022
Salary scale: Ksh.115, 290 x 5,770 – 121,060 x 6,050 – 127,110 x 6,240 – 133,350 x 6,420 – 139,770 x 6,610 – 146,380 x6, 790 – 153,170 p.m.
The Director Information Communication Technology (ICT) will be responsible to the Chief Officer in Charge of Public Administration/Governance for the development and management of Information Technology policies and programmes within the County.
Specific Duties and responsibilities will entail:-
(i) Systems development implementation and allocation
(ii) Overseeing the development of local area network(LAN) and wide area network(WAN);
(iii) Coordinating systems development;
(iv) Evaluating systems and ensuring adherence to established ICT standards;
(v) Training and preparing staff performance reports;
(vi) Liaising with user departments to ensure effective maintenance of hardware for ICT equipment;
(vii) Safe custody of computer catalogues, manuals and licensed software.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
(i) Served in the grade of Senior Assistant Director of Information Communication Technology or in an equivalent and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
(ii) A Master’s degree in Computer Science or any other related discipline from a recognized Institution;
(iii) Attended a Strategic Leadership Development Programme lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
(iv) Demonstrated professional ability, initiative and competence in organizing and directing work; and
(v) Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya.
